THE NEIGHBORHOOD PROJECT

The Neighborhood Project is a new series developed by Starrene Foster, Artistic Director of Starr Foster Dance Project. A series of 3 different events, The Neighborhood Project will take place at various locations throughout the city of Richmond and will include not only the artists of Starr Foster Dance Project, but members of the community that are dancers, musicians, non-dancers, poets and possibly your neighbor. Each performance will be created for, and relevant to, each site-specific location.

June 9th, 2007~ Belle Isle~2pm
Students from the Appomattox Governors School will perform Foster’s World Without End on the rocks of the James River.

June 16th, 2007~ 15th Street and Main Street at the Reconciliation Statue~ 2pm

June 24th, 2007~ East District Family Resource Center, 2405 Jefferson Ave ~ 3pm
A great opportunity for girls (ages 8 to 18) to participate in a free three week dance program offered at the Family Resource Center at 2405 Jefferson Ave 23223. The classes will be held on Saturday June 9th, 16th , and 24th from 10-12 p.m. A free performance for friends, family and community members will be held on Sunday, June 24th 3-5 p.m. in front of the eye catching murals painted by ART180.
